Of course, the best time is that you are on time or ahead of the schedule for at least a couple of minutes. That is when it comes to meeting someone else or attending an interview from the job you have applied. But when it comes to learning, especially on how to write easy English essay, then this “it is better late than never” maxim will always be applicable.
First of all, this is almost the same from those mind games which you need to utilize your coconut shell to churn great ideas to be conveyed in the way you understood them and to be passed on to your readers the same thoughts you’ve comprehended. And, by this maxim “it is better late than never,” you really need to start form the basic - subject and verb agreement to compound complex sentences.
Learning how to write good essay is almost the same to learning how to speak, speaking in the sense that you really are talking to some about your ideas you want to share. Writing is speaking too, only the form of other medium which is writing. Of course, there are big differences between the two, but when you have learned how to write, that is the time you learn how to speak the language too.
As I keep mentioning here, reading is the best prerequisite of writing. When you read and understand what ideas are presented in the reading material, then you have started to learn how to express it in your owned words too. You can try. Read an article, then try to write your reactions on it.
In writing your reactions, do not write long sentences. Simple sentences with a subject and predicate will do. This is for to easily compare and trace out where is the subject and the predicate and also the subject and verb agreement. You will check the thoughts of each sentences in the reaction later.
I suggest you start writing 5 sentences for your reaction or make it 3 if you find it very hard to make one.

This is just an example Opening Remarks to be delivered for high school students. This speech was actually delivered in one the Science activities of the high school.
Do you remember this jingle? “Great things start from a small beginning,” do you?
Albert Einstein, Thomas Edison, John Napier are just few scientists to mention who, from their curiosity and unceasing search for the betterment of the human race had formulated logical computations which serves as the basis of inventing sophisticated machines of today. They all started from the first step.
The flying colors your teachers will give you from these activities are not just a mere stimulant for you to study harder but for you to think dipper and to cultivate your inner talents. Your talents being accompanied by socialization like this activity will mold you not into a liability of the society but an asset and a better functioning individual of our country and of the world as whole.
“A journey of a thousand miles starts from a single step.” I would like to congratulate you my dear students. Your journey to life has begun and you are now in your second step.
Good luck.
